Returning to Bordeaux, it was finally time for Managing Director Takayuki to show off his skills.
Yes, the long-awaited day of the chateau tour had finally arrived!
Managing Director Takayuki, who is the senior sommelier at Restaurant La Rivière, and Bordeaux wine importer Mr. Sano will be touring the chateaux that they have carefully selected for this tour.
The two chateaux we visited this time were:
★Vieux Château Certan
The oldest chateau in Pomerol, it owns Chateau Le Pin, which became famous as a legendary garage wine. Its prime location, surrounded by big names such as Petrus and Lafleur, produces elegant wines that are suitable for long-term aging.
★Château Figeac
This wine is produced in an excellent terroir adjacent to Pomerol, a prestigious winery in Saint-Emilion that was promoted to the highest rating of Premier Superlative Classé A in the 2022 classification update, and is characterized by a unique blend ratio of approximately 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, resulting in a taste that is both powerful and pleasant.
After safely completing our tour of the chateaux, we returned to Bordeaux and had our final dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Sano.

Early in the morning, I leave Bordeaux-Saint-Jean station for Paris on the TGV.
Remembering last year’s big trouble when I got caught in a strike while trying to board the TGV, I went to the station early and just prayed to arrive safely.
Thanks to you, I was able to arrive in Paris safely.
I’m going to go explore the market and the city of Paris right away!
With the Olympics approaching, the streets of Paris were busier than usual and I may have felt a little tense during my stay, but here in Paris, I have wonderful friends who are always happy to help me whenever I visit them.
Every time I travel abroad, I am inspired by my friends who are successful in foreign lands, and I returned home with the feeling that we too must work harder.
